Dalcroze Musical Arts

Starts the week of September 13, 2026 ending in May 2027

Eurhythmics class for ages 4-6 years old. This Dalcroze class for young children is a year long series where skills build throughout the year. In this class we use our imagination, play, songs, and movement to introduce the basics of music including note values, time signatures, dynamics, and more. Imagination is key in these classes as we move like bears, foxes, skunks, dragons, trees, snowflakes and more! 

The feeling generated through movement (fast, slow, sharp, smooth, etc) along with listening skills allows students to use natural language to describe music theory concepts. After a concept is practiced with the body it will be named with proper musical terms to teach students the building blocks of music. We sometimes refer to this as using the body as the instrument. Learning first through the body and movement enables long-term retention and understanding of music theory concepts. 

Eurhythmics classes are fun while they offer an deep understanding of music, they even pair well with private lessons.

This class is led using the piano by a certified Dalcroze teacher.
